Ship Orders

The ship orders page is meant to be used by the warehouse or the department in your company that handles physically shipping product.  The ship orders page is similar to the manage orders page but without edit capability and without financials.  Additioanlly, you can print pick tickets to start the pick, pack and ship process.  After the order has been shipped you should return to the manage orders screen and change the status of the order to Shipped and enter (or import) the tracking numbers.

Introduction

To access the Ship Orders screen, click the Ship Orders option from the Store Admin Menu as depicted in the following screenshot:

 

The next screen displayed will be the Ship Order Listing screen.

From the Ship Order Listing screen you have the following options:

  • Search Ship Orders
  • Edit Ship Order Details
  • Manage Ship Order Details
  • Print Pick Ticket
  • Send Ship Email

To only allow certain users access to the Ship Orders page you can assign the "SCShipOrders" DNN role to certain users or a group of users.  This allows you to give shippers/warehouse access to the ship orders screen but no access to other management pages in the store.  Click here for a full list of SmithCart DNN roles.

The ship orders screen can be used by shippers to fulfill orders using the following information:

  • Customer and shipping order information (view only)
  • Order Detail Information
  • Product SKU
  • Product Name
  • Quantity

Search Ship Orders

By default, the Ship Orders screen is shows you all of your orders and is sorted showing newest orders first. The Search Orders section allows you to search and/or filter Orders in the following ways:

  • By Date Range
  • Order Status
  • Pay Status
  • Keyword Search
  • Sorting the Grid

The Search Ship Orders options can be found at the top of the Ship Order Listing screen

 

Search Ship Orders by Date

To filter Orders by Date Range just click on the calendar icons for From Date and To Date and choose the date range you want and then click the filter button and the order grid will filter all the order by date range on the order date field.

To remove the filter click the Clear button and all the orders will be displayed again.

 

Search Ship Orders by Order Status

To filter the orders by Order Status select a Status from the Order Status dropown then click the Search button and the Ship Orders grid will filter all orders by the Order Status chosen.

To remove the filter click the “Clear” button and all the orders will be displayed again.

 

Search Ship Orders by Keyword

The Keyword Search allows searching for orders based on the Order ID, Customer ID, Name (first or last), Product Info, Company, Phone Number, or Email.

Simply enter the identifying information in the textbox and click to the “Search” button and the order grid will filter on the criteria you entered.

To remove the filter and show all orders click the “Clear” button.

Manage Ship Order Details

The Ship Order Detail screen can be used by shippers to fulfill orders. The Ship Order Detail screen contains the following information:

  • Customer and shipping order information (view only)
  • Order Detail Information
  • Product SKU
  • Product Name
  • Quantity

From the Ship Order Detail screen you can:

  • Edit Ship Order Details
  • Send Ship Email

To access the Ship Order Detail screen of an order, click the pencil next to the Order.

Edit Ship Order Details

After selecting an order, the Ship Order Details screen will be displayed:

  1. Make Changes to Ship Order Details

    Make the changes to the Ship Order Details and click the Save button to save your changes.

Send Ship Email

Once an order has been shipped, it’s important to send a ship confirmation email out to the customer notifying them their order has shipped along with their tracking number and the ship date. The Manage Ship Order Details screen provides the ability to send the Ship Email to the customer.

To send the Shipping Email simply click the “Send Ship Email” from the Manage Ship Order Details screen and the Ship Confirmation Email will be sent to the customer.

After the “Send Email” button is clicked the following message will be displayed:

Note: The Ship confirmation email requires the Ship Confirmation Email Template to be configured. See the Email Templates section for more information.
